CUSTOMER RELATIONS ETHICAL ISSUES:
Some unethical business practices are substitution of
materials without customer knowledge after a job has
been awarded; misrepresentation of the content of a
product; the scheduling of delivery dates that are
inaccurate in order to get a contract; and tricking a
customer into buying something he does not need.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS ETHICAL ISSUES:
Currently some prominent problems are whistle-blowing; drug
testing; and preferential treatment. Another significant
issue is "the blame game".
Robert Jackall [in Moral Mazes: Bureaucracy and Managerial
Work] is critical of the failure of bureaucracy to track
responsibility. Some managers allow blame to fall on
subordinates in order to cover up their own mistakes. "The
ideal situation is to be in a position to fire one's
successors for one's previous mistakes". He explains that
the employee's "most feared situation is to end up in the
wrong place at the wrong time and get blamed...".
